For months, Louisville quarterback Teddy Bridgewater has been talked about as a potential top pick in the 2014 Draft with his status as an underclassman who might not elect to join the professional ranks one of the only things standing in the way of a handshake with Roger Goodell.

That obstacle appears to be out of the way. Brett McMurphy of ESPN reports that Bridgewater has decided to leave college and enter the draft this year.

Once Bridgewater makes it official, the vetting process will begin. As it usually does with top quarterback prospects, that process will likely include a variety of reports that either strongly praise or strongly critique Bridgewater’s game, personality, smile and perhaps even his choice of pizza toppings.

Should Bill O’Brien and the Texans like what they see, Bridgewater will have a real chance to go No. 1 overall given the Texans’ need for a new quarterback. If they don’t, someone else might like him enough to make the Rams the other side of a trade for the second overall pick for the second time in the last three years.

I can see RM making a foolish trade - smh.

really don't think u have anything to worry about, Reggie is not bright enough to see what is best for the Raiders...that being said I think Bridgewater will get drafted by Houston with the first pick.

Too bad the Oakland Raiders have neither the culture, nor the coaching personnel, nor the mentality to develop either one of these QBs. If we draft a QB, the most polished guy out there on the field is Johnny Manziel. I know there have been some personality questions about him, but nothing from his coaches ever, who are the only ones I care to listen to.

Johnny Football is a fighter no doubt about it..and he play a hell of a game last night, I think JOHNNY will be a very good QB in the pro's.

If we don't get Bridgewater, Manziel would be great.

I wouldn't shit on Manziel, the kid is fucking prolific in a downright nasty conference. And he's clutch.

Just read the Texans owner has no problem trading the #1 draft pick. Wonder if RM is thinking of trading up? Raiders at #5, who is available besides Manziel, Bridgwater and Clowney. Maybe package McFadden in a deal or something. In my mind this is the new beginning for this franchise after 11 seasons of mostly futility.

McFadden is a FA, unless reggie see fit to resign him...big mistake unless Hue was our head coach.....
