Raiders release WR Keelan Doss

Despite having one of the best preseasons for any player this year, the Oakland Raiders have decided to move on from undrafted receiver Keelan Doss from UC Davis, according to Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network. Doss led the team in receptions and receiving yards in the preseason, but it wasn't enough to save him a roster spot.

After the team released Marcell Ateman and Doss, it appears head coach Jon Gruden has opted to keep veterans J.J. Nelson and Ryan Grant over the young kids. Look for Oakland to try to retain both Doss and Ateman on the practice squad.

Doss is a nice story. Not that fast or quick and doing it against 2nd and 3rd string scrubs. He's like a poor mans Seth Roberts which isn't saying much. Gruden always favored vets anyway. Hates coaching up kids.

Kid has some skills obviously. Gruden prefers vets. If he thought Doss was some phenom and a solid one or two in this league he'd probably retain him. Doss did this against 2nd and 3rd stringers in a meaningless game in which he wasn't game planned for. Kid isn't exactly a speedster or lightning quick. Maybe he has it moments in this league but he looks like a poor mans Seth Roberts which isn't saying much.

Word on the street the Raiders made Doss an offer he declined because Jax offered more and they have less at wide receiver than we do. So Doss felt he'd get more snaps at Jax and showcase his talents. Kid made a business and career move. He knew there was no room in Oak to showcase his skills every Sunday.

Off subject, I think Mayock and Gruden are high on Deshone Kizer, raw talent and mobile who was in a zillion systems as a pro. Gruden likes mobile qb, his size and arm. He'll be our #2 behind Carr sooner than later and wouldn't be surprised if Carr shits the bed Deshone Kizer is his heir apparent in the next year or two. Yeah I said it. Wouldn't surprise me. Carr isn't mobile and is the biggest bitch in a dirty pocket I've ever seen. Kizer can make the same throws as Carr, he's younger and mobile and hasn't robbed our bank like Carr has. Carr has been paid excess of 60 million since he's been with us and the kid has been a one hit wonder padding his stats with checkdowns and garbage time stats so it looks good on paper. For every game he has pulled out for us a pro he has fucked up the same amount of games. Average mid tier qb with inflated stats.

I have a gigantic motherfuckin problem with a grown man so called face of the franchise, supposed leader on the field and locker room, making a zillion bucks a year crying on the football field, not once but twice. After losses wearing eye liner and talking about the game like he's sitting in a bar after a softball beer league shhoting the breeze with the guys. The great NFL QB's in the history of this game never pulled that stunt.
