Man, if it wasn't for our defense, we'd lose this game. We didn't do shit in the second half offensively. I'm beginning to see a pattern with the Raiders, we're great in the first half, but the opponents make some adjustments in the second half and shut our offense down. This needs to change or we're going to run out of luck. Tarver, keep giving out all the birds you want Bro!

Thinking back on the game, while Pryor and the offense clearly struggled in the second half, I'm not sure they had any help from their OC. In my view, Olson just mailed it in - simply hoping that the D would hold on to the lead is not enough of an offensive plan.

Pryor even said in the post game interview that he didn't know what the gameplan or strategy was for the second half. The game yesterday could have been a morale killer for the defense if the Raiders had lost. Aside from Pryor's ability to make plays sometimes this offense has been atrocious most of the season.

What happened: The Steelers’ previous drive ended when WR Antonio Brown dropped the ball as S Brandian Ross bumped him a little bit. Despite that miscue, Ben Roethlisberger went right back to Brown in a big spot.

Pittsburgh ran double slants, and it should have been easy money once Jerricho Cotchery (89) cleared out Porter on the inside slant, with Jenkins playing well off. It was an easy play, as Roethlisberger delivered a perfect ball that allowed Brown to protect himself and the ball against the oncoming Jenkins. But Brown wasn’t strong enough on the ball. Jenkins tackled him—without hammering the ball—and the ball jumped into the air. Coming off Cotchery, Porter was able to pick the ball before it hit the turf.

Two straight possessions. Two straight drops by Brown.

“Oakland made good plays both times, but I know I’ve got to hang on to those,” Brown told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.
