Hue Jackson Would "Love" To Hear From Dallas

Postby blazin1 » Thu Jan 24, 2013 4:32 pm

It’s been reported that former Oakland Raiders head coach Hue Jackson has met with the Dallas Cowboys about a potential coaching position. Jackson denied those reports this week, but said he’d very much like to hear from Jerry Jones.

“I have not talked to the Cowboys,” Jackson told Fox Sports Radio’s DayBreak show this week, via the Dallas Morning News. “I am familiar with their system. I would love to hear from the Cowboys, but I have not at this point.”

At the moment, Jackson is a special teams assistant and secondary coach for the Cincinnati Bengals. As Jon Machota of the Morning News points out, Jackson would most likely come to Dallas as an offensive position coach, and there are currently two vacancies on that side of the ball, at running backs coach and tight ends coach.

Running backs coach Skip Peete was fired shortly after season’s end, and tight ends coach John Garrett departed Dallas this week to take over as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ wide receivers coach.
