In terms of personnel, it's incompetence, lack of will and lack of tenacity that's holding the Raiders down. Not cap space. That's just the sad fact.

Their agents are negotiable contracts based on who signs first. It will set the price for the other. We have the initial proposal to Mack already. Now it’s a game of who sign first. This is a secondary reason the Mack extension has been completed. The 5th year option for Mack became guaranteed. It gives the team time to work on the draft and FA contracts. You have to figure the budget with everyone else’s contract in place so you know what you room you have to play with in a monster sized contract.

Mack was swinging for the fences in regards to a financial package since Carr got his retirement contract. Than Gruden got his and Mack probably thought fuck this place, I can get a fat deal somewhere else. He knew a year ago that we'd franchise tag him for two years anyway. He got like 92 mill guaranteed from the Bears. I can't blame him. But it does suck losing his talent.
