Jon Gruden Reunion With The Raiders In 2018?

Postby blazin1 » Mon Dec 25, 2017 6:44 pm

It sounds like Gruden wants a chance to coach again, but he does have an easier job right now so that might just be talk. Can Mark Davis convince Jon Gruden to coach the Raiders again?

You don't adjust, you just dominate.

Gruden would want to get paid a lot of money and he wouldn't coexist philosophically with Reggie. I'd like to see it but don't think it will.

I answered yes because I think Mark could talk him int it.

Unfortunately he won’t. And Reggie would see that happen over his dead body. Reggie and Jon would mix like gas and fire.

You’re right. Jon’s philosophy is to win th SB. Reggie’s philosophy is to sabotage his organization, fuck up anyhing good about it and import failure. That’s Reggie’s philosophy. He lets other agendas stand in the way of putting together a winning team.

I'm not sure I'm on board with Gruden coming back. Yea, I loved him when he was here. I believe in the old saying: "you can't go back". I could also be completely wrong about that!

I agree that Gruden and RM would be like oil and water.... it just wouldn't work. Of course, if we had an owner that was more like his daddy.................

Every time there is a coaching opening Gruden name gets brought up. Tennessee, Notre Dame, Bucs, Raiders, Raiders again he’s not coming back. The guy is totally overrated & is lucky to have won that Super Bowl against his own team basically. SB winning coaches never win again with a different team. Vermeil is the only one I know that did it and he lost in 80. And if he had his choice TB or Raiders he would go to TB. He’s probably looking at Derek Carr thinking why would I come back to coach this shithead.

Trade Carr somewhere for picks and sign Kirk Cousins. Carr's a fuckin fraud like Jack. Dude is fuckin overrated at 25 million a year. Derek morphedd into David Carr before our eyes this year.

Sad. Last year I thought this guy was the finally the savior QB for us. Then we pay him 25 million & now if shit doesn’t change next year we will be financially fucked again. Right back in the same hole we were in in 2012 that Reggie supposedly got us out of. 5 years later Reggie has brought us to the same situation we started in. We have overpaid bum players, we still suck & instead of trading our draft picks like Al did, Reggie just busts them. Only thing Reggie knows how to do is pick his nose & the flies off his head.

I’d be down w Cousins. He’s the real deal. I still think Carr is too. He just needs a full offseason to rest up and shake off all the injuries - both mentally and physically.

I think Gruden would be great personally. I think he knows more about football now than he ever did as a coach. This job has given him a chance to see what other great football minds have been doing and evolving over the past few years. I also think he has had to play well with others in this job and that might help him bond better w his players.

And given the choice between Carr and Winston, Gruden picks Carr every day.
