With talk increasing that the Raiders could move to Las Vegas, there’s also increasing talk that the biggest sports franchise in Vegas — the Ultimate Fighting Championship — could be involved. But UFC President Dana White says that’s not the case.

Amid reports that the UFC is for sale and that UFC majority owners Frank and Lorenzo Fertitta might use the proceeds to buy the Raiders, White said on the Dan Patrick Show that there’s no consideration of that.

“No. That’s absolutely false,” White said. “That’s not true. It’s very well known the Fertitta brothers are lunatics about football. They love football. What they’ve done to help Bishop Gorman become the No. 1 high school team in the country, Lorenzo’s son plays at Notre Dame, Lorenzo’s other son plays at Villanova. They’re definitely football guys, but they’re not looking to buy a football team right now.”

Still, White says the NFL would make a lot of money in the Las Vegas market.

“Any football team that comes to Las Vegas will be very successful,” White said.

That football team may be the Raiders, but Mark Davis will apparently not be selling his team to the Fertitta brothers.
