So as of Weds we had $20M in cap space. We signed broken-ass Sims, high-potential Roach and never-heard-of-the-fucker Maiavi. Then we lose out to KC on a CB we really need because we can't pay enough??

KC is going to be a real handful for DEN next season. They're getting stronger across the board.

In fact, we're the only team in the AFCW that's not getting stronger.

SD's coaching changes alone put them light years ahead of us.

DEN is making its run. They've decided this is their year, and they're not holding anything back. They may be my early favorite to win it all. If I was a betting guy I might lay some cash on them right now, take the good early odds and run with it.

Well, I am a betting man, but not with bookies. Just amongst friends and acquaintances.

I have a theory on why McClain and Kelly are still on the roster. Dead money with regards to McClain this season is $10mil (we are at $26mil now). Next season we already have a $6mil dead money hit releasing Huff. McClain and Kelly both have an $8mil cap hit each against them next season. Whether all that counts remains to be seen. Reggie is either going to restructure those two or wait till the last minute to deal with them....I get McClain's money as he was a top ten pick in the previous CBA. Kelly's contract was just stupid....

Not if the intention was to keep him for the duration.

I didn't sift through all the pages but as of today the Raiders are around $7m. The good/bad for 2014 is the team will be somewhere between $45m-$50m UNDER the cap. When was the last time us fans could say the Raiders were under the cap @ any amount going into an offseason. The downfall is the team would only have I believe 22-23 players under contract.IMO, that isn't a HUGE deal as RM seems to be good w/ numbers & getting bang for his bucks.

Is this the space the tam has now? Before or after CP trade?Lastly, are you the cap guru for RT? If so, what do you project for 2014 in cap space?I've heard around $50m & up.Thanks for answers.

These are the numbers before either trade today. I should have an update soon. Alot will depend on how Reggie redoes Flynn's deal. Palmer will still cost us about $9mil in dead money, but we save about $15mi in cash (2013 salary)

If we just use the Top 51 contracts for this season minus Palmer and McClain we are looking at roughly $65mil under the cap as of today...
